Dr. Katia Sarafidou Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Katia Sarafidou was born in Homburg / Germany and grew up in Kozani. She graduated the School of Dentistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She then completed a three-year specialization program at the University of Hannover (Medizinische Hochschule Hannover) in the field of Prosthodontics and obtained the title of Recognised Specialist in Prosthodontics from the German Society of Prosthodontics and Biomaterials (DGPro) and the European Association for Prosthodontics (EPA).
She holds a PhD Degree from the University of Hannover after conducting scientific research on the mechanical properties of ceramic materials for tooth-supported and implant-supported restorations. She has completed a two-year postgraduate training program in Aesthetic Dentistry conducted from the German Society of Aesthetic Dentistry (DGÄZ). She then worked at a private clinic in Cologne and received postgraduate training in Pediatric Dentistry from the German Academy of Dental Clinical Practice and Science (APW).
She belongs to the teaching staff of the Mibeg Institute of Health Sciences in Cologne, as a lecturer in postgraduate training for dentists. After an eleven-year stay in Germany, she returned to Thessaloniki, where she set up the private dental clinic NK Dental. Since 2019 she works as a research fellow in the education of undergraduate students in the School of Dentistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is a mother of two children, 3 and 7 years old.
